We would like to thank our friend Mike Winter Rousset for his loyalty and trust.
With the sale of the collection of his father, Jean-Pierre Rousset, we close the third part of an incredible triptych initiated with the sale of the collection of his aunt Anne-Marie Rousset, then the three-day dispersion of the collections accumulated since the early 1930s in the floors of the Art Gallery of the Compagnie de la Chine et des Indes, which we organized with Cornette de Saint Cyr in 2020 and 2021.
The days spent organizing the first two parts with him and his cousins Laurence and Hervé du Peuty, establishing inventories, rediscovering forgotten objects and documents, pieces of an immense puzzle that allowed us to reconstitute this family saga together, while Jean-Pierre Rousset, in the background, in order to remain faithful to his legendary discretion, shed light on the elements engraved in his memory, will undoubtedly remain some of the most beautiful memories of our professional career.
We will keep the memory of Jean-Pierre of the clarity of his look, of the happiness that the research, the contemplation, the study and the possession of art objects obviously gave him, and the reflexes of an « old school » antique dealer which animated him until our last meeting.
